The Worth of One's Own dialect (9th)

This week’s lesson was all about John Wycliffe how he like every other church father never did let themselves be overwhelmed and be consumed by the idea of fear. He did show a life of courage in doing what God wills him to do. His life conveys a message that there is nothing to fear when you are doing what God will, and you know your on the right path because God will protect you. It just agrees with the saying that “there is no such safe place here on earth but just to know that we are in the arms of God”. His belief of wanting to translate God’s Word into the language that his people could understand, shows his outstanding care for his people and deep concern for them to also be able to read and personally get acquainted and really experience real rebuke and learning from the Word itself. From his life I learned that we really don’t have to fear anything, I also learn and saw the importance of having God’s Word written in the dialect/language that you are ministering to. It’s not enough to have some people who could understand certain or read foreign language but it’s really important to translate it and let them have it in their own language which embeds their culture. 

It’s really important to trust in the Lord and depend only to Him, to fear nothing and always stay rest assured in His care and protection. I also learned the importance of really reaching to the people who are far of reach and help them have the Bible in their own language. To translate the Word of God into a community of group of peoples own dialect will be more encouraging for them to read. To learn how to translate it, by understanding the original text will be very helpful when we are placed in tribal areas for missions. Many times in life fear would be the easiest thing that we could feel, and I submitted to the thought of it dozens of times. Also the opportunities to learn language, I usually taken for granted and failed to see the importance that it could bring in my future ministry. 

Now I should always see the value of every opportunity of learning languages and give clear and focus study of those that when times come that I could use such languages I will be able to maybe also translate a one book of the Bible to a certain local dialect. And whenever doubt arise regarding my calling, I will really take time to evaluate it I was just doubting because I fear. I would like to be always dependent on God that even if I’m not certain of what place he wants me to God, I would still be willing to follow because I know that its him who had called me to do so.
