One thing in the life of Ambrose that really struck me was his honest and pure admiration of his father. How he looked up to what his father was doing and what he had done. It resulted to following his father’s steps while growing up. His father really did made a great impact to his life that he was that willing to follow such kind of path. It indeed show a great kind of father and son relationship. Ambrose saw how good his father lived his life that he also want to do the same things that he does. How our parents lived their lives really would made an impact to how their children would want to spend their lives as they grow older and more mature. It doesn’t mean that this would be applied to every person cause some children lived a wicked life even though their parents portrayed their life well. But it did apply in most cases to many people.
It was kind of a reminder for me, that I look forward to having a family of my own to think through how I would lived a life that worth to be followed by my children someday. It’s a good preparation that as we plan to lead our future children to the good path toward the love and the fear of the Lord, that we would also plan how we ought to portray a life that shows the love and the fear of the Lord. The greatest impact that we could give to a person specially to children would be our way of living. Not the persistent reminder that we speak but the consistent action and way of living that we are showing them.
As I look forward to a future of a family of my own, and the children that I would have. I will now start to act out my love and fear of God, to be able to develop in me the natural converting in action of my love to God. That I will not just settle on spoken words that can’t be seen with how I live, but to first live out what I would be speaking of and to act out the things that I would prefer to just be left spoken by my heart.
